The Langry LR-G150 rebar scanner can accurately estimate rebar diameters at concrete cover depths up to 65 mm. While the device has a maximum scanning range for rebar location and depth of up to 190 mm (using the 2nd range), its ability to estimate diameter is restricted to a shallower range to ensure accuracy.
Factors Affecting Accuracy:
- Spacing: Rebar diameter is best measured when the rebar is spaced at least 150 mm apart.
- Stirrup Correction: The device has a "stirrup correction" function to improve accuracy in reinforced concrete where multiple layers exist.
- Surface Condition: The scanner relies on electromagnetic induction, so it requires a clean surface and no metallic objects (rings, tools) nearby for optimal results.
